Winner of the 1st place of “Cup Of Excellence” Award on 2018.
In 1904 when Manuel Perez Acquired Farm La Reforma and Anexos, he began to produce Coffee, before that the farm was used to produce tobacco, corn and beans.
For a few years his son Leonardo continued with the same crops, it was not until 1939 that Leonardo the second dedicated the farm production to Coffee. Leonardo the second started working very young; He, his brothers and cousins were coffee cutters and used to process it manually. He said that when the coffee was ready, he put it on mules and walked for days from Agua Dulce, Cuilco to Huehuetenango. When he returned, he was very happy because he had sold all the coffee and could return to the farm riding the mules.
The fourth generation continued working with this fascinating crop, and it has been that important to the Pérez family that the fifth generation is also working on the farm to be one of the best in Huehuetenango and Guatemala.
